Republican candidate Donald Trump has arrived at a polling booth in Florida to cast his ballot as Americans decide on their next president.

It comes shortly after the first results of the day were reported, with the tiny New Hampshire town of Dixville Notch registering three votes for Trump and three votes for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

Tiny New Hampshire town of Dixville Notch registers election's first results

We have our first results of the 2024 presidential election — and wouldn't you know it, it looks like it's going to be a nailbiter.

Dixville Notch, a tiny town in northern New Hampshire with a voting-age population of six, officially closes its polls after all of its eligible residents have voted, meaning it is traditionally the first place in the United States to report its voting tally.

This year Dixville Notch's six residents — who all live in the same former hotel — split their votes evenly between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, registering three votes apiece.

That's after those same six residents voted in New Hampshire's Republican primary earlier this year, with all six supporting Trump challenger and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley.

It's only the second time in history Dixville Notch has reported a tie, with the first time being in 2012, when Barack Obama and Mitt Romney received five votes each.
